Annual Year Two Music Workshops

These have been offered to all year two classes in our Primary and Special schools for many years now. Since 2000 the materials have been especially written for the schools, including: The Magic Tree House, Papageno and the Firebird, Songs and a story from Africa, Magical Toys, Let’s build a Music Story and for 2006 a story from SE Asia with newly composed and traditional songs.

• Every year two class in primary and special school is invited to learn a set of songs for a whole morning’s workshop with our Coordinator
• Materials especially written for the schools
• Many schools prepare their own items to perform
• Some schools create their own compositions
• During the workshop morning the children practise:
  • Singing techniques
  • Percussion
  • Composing
  • Performing
• Many workshops combine local schools to give a ’festival’ atmosphere.
• Schools are given detailed follow up materials to integrate into their curriculum.
• The materials are then included in the latest edition of the infant CD Rom.

Information on the 2006 Year 2 workshops content and dates will be sent out to schools in January 2006.
